North Carolina native Donnie Lee Strickland carries the unmistakable resonance of true Southern country. Rooted in tradition and driven by conviction, Strickland’s rich baritone and timeless delivery echo the influence of legends like George Strait, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Randy Travis, The Judds, and Reba McEntire — artists who shaped his sound from an early age. From singing in church pews to commanding stages across the country, Strickland’s path has always been grounded in authenticity.
He has performed nationwide, earning respect for his commanding stage presence and vocal strength. Strickland appeared as a special guest on the historic Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree in Nashville, sharing billing with Grand Ole Opry icons Jan Howard and Jean Shepard. He has also performed at Loretta Lynn's Ranch and was a featured performer at Tanya Tucker’s VIP Birthday Bash in Russellville, Arkansas.
Throughout his career, Strickland has opened for an impressive roster of artists including Ty Herndon, Anita Cochran, Jeff Bates, Frankie Ballard, Brothers Osborne, Sunny Sweeney, and Lu Lu Roman. He has been showcased on the Music City Hayride at the Texas Troubadour Theatre in Nashville, on “Branson Country USA” at the Grand Country Music Hall in Missouri, and on “Ben Stillwater’s Country Junction” in Branson. He was also a cast member of the American Music Jubilee at the Rudy Theater in Selma, North Carolina, and a semi-finalist in the Jimmy Dean True Value Country Showdown, the WSM Road Show, and the Southern Pepsi Challenge.
Strickland’s artistry has been recognized with multiple honors, including the 2017 WOBA Song of the Year for “She’s My Kind of Woman,” the 2017 Josie Music Award for Modern Country Male Artist of the Year, the 2018 Josie Music Award for Modern Country Male Entertainer of the Year, and the 2019 Josie Music Award for Modern Country Male Vocalist.
